Electrotechnics for Mass production machines
As a matter of fact, the production of machines for electro-component processing belongs among the first production activities of Komfi. These devices designed are primarily for the final stage of electro-component production. In this area, we focus predominantly on firms engaged in manufacturing or processing electro-components (usually of the SMD concept). Bending component leads, measuring their parameters, sorting per tolerances measured, counting and packing single pieces in various ways as per request are just a few examples of operations performed on our devices.
Foreign sales success gradually followed the early sales success in the Czech market. Our products have broken through mainly in Portugal, Germany and China; the German demand is currently the highest. Our long-term experience and the good core of our established development team are the major contributions to the good name of Komfi, not only in foreign markets. Thanks to this, our machines constituted an assortment in high demand in the past; however, we can also satisfy our customers’ needs today.
Mass production machines
Some types of machines used for processing electro-components have been unified and now they are mass-produced. These are mostly smaller machines designed for packaging electro-components and their accessories.

Modular design machines
Since its production start, Komfi has also pursued the design and production of custom-made machines. We realize how important it is when designing these machines to take into account the end user’s requirements; therefore, we strive to satisfy its needs fully and flexibly. In designing the semi-standardized concept for this production, our development team has utilized the experience and knowledge gained in the past. Thus, modular designed machines allow creating combinations of various equipment tailored to the customer’s needs along with a guarantee of established quality and reliability.
Relatively sophisticated devices working in fully automated mode fall in this category. They produce components of both SMD and classical design (capacitors, diodes, LEDs, photodiodes, transistors, phototransistors, integrated circuits, etc.). The computer evaluates the measured values as easily accessible by connecting the machine to the firm’s information system. The component production rate in machines of this type varies by about 3 pieces/s. The batches (reels) are marked with bar and datamatrix codes.
Examples of sub-assemblies:
Feeding

- bulk items by means of a vibrating conveyor,
- items supplied in bars,
- uncut items from a leadframu,
- items held in a tray or other supply bins.
Components orientation
- Positioning – rotating items based on the measured polarity;
- Positioning – rotating items based on the appearance.
Shaping, bending

- Bending and shaping items;
- Cutting items and other types of mechanical processing.
Laser welding
- Laser welding of contacts.
Components measuring
- Measuring electrical parameters (voltage, current, resistance, impedance, ESR and others);
- Measuring optical parameters (wavelength, intensity, sensitivity and others);
- Measuring items’ logical functions.
Laser marking
- Laser marking – marking items with a laser (value, type, orientation and others).

Camera check
- Camera checking – verifying the correctness of items’ marking, orientation and others.
Sorting and packaging

- Placing good items into tape, bars, or tray;
- Placing out-of-tolerance items into bins.
